Hotter After Midnight by Cynthia Eden was a scorching look at the Ordinary world we live in and the Paranormal inhabitants we are unaware of that walk among us. The characters were at once likable and engaging. The premise was a new take in a popular genre populated with Shifters, Vampires and Demons. I only have one warning for you, the title is a bit misleading, it’s past HOT and way into SCORCHING!  *G*
Emily Drake isn’t your normal Psychologist. They call her the Monster Doctor. She can “see” the Other that populate our world and helps them with their problems, whether it be a blood phobia for a Vampire or a Succubus looking for real love. But now she’s been asked to profile the Night Butcher, a serial killer, for the Police. And the killer isn’t normal, he’s Other. If that isn’t enough she’s also met a man, Detective Colin Gryth, who matches her in strengh of will and can reach her heart. He’s a Shifter, an Other, and now she must decide if she can trust him with her secrets and her heart, or will the beast within him destroy them both before they find the killer?
I truly liked this book and it’s characters. My only question for the author is, when is McNeal going to get his own book? *g*
Hot by Julia Harper

Hot by Julia Harper was a funny, whirlwind ride through a small town librarians push for justice, even when breaking a few laws along the way.
Librarian and part time bank cashier,Turner Hasting, has waited for four long years to find the right moment when she can right an injustice against her uncle. As she has plotted for four years, she has also frozen herself emotionally, not letting anyone close. All that’s about to change when the FBI agent chasing her makes a call that will change the course of both of their lives forever.
Special Agent John “Mac” McKinnon lived a beige existence until now. When he see’s Turner Hastings on the video camera boldly stealing the contents of her boss’ saftey-deposit box after a bank robbery committed by 2 bubmling burglars, he is intrigued by her calmness and spunky grin. And that’s when he picks up his cell phone and makes the first call.
As Turner and John spend time talking and getting to know each other, their relationship grows from Fugitive and FBI agent, to two people who are made for each other. Will they be able to unlock the ice around Turner’s heart, or will the eveidence she is searching for become her downfall in more ways than one.
Turner and John are remarkable characters. Their story together begins with that first phone call and progresses from there. Turner has strived for justice for her Uncle for so long, she’s frozen her own life in the process and John is the heat that will melt all her reservations. There are many funny characters among the story including Squeaky and the bumbling burlgars are another. I highly recommend this book when looking for a romance worthy of a smile of satisfaction at the end!

Haunted by Heather Graham

Haunted by Heather Graham was a great book filled with mysticism, mystery and romance. The characters were likable, the mystery intriguing, and the introduction of the Ghost chilling.

Sheriff Matt Stone knows he has to do something about the Ghost haunting the Lee Room in his ancestral home, Melody House, when the Bride spending her wedding night there runs screaming stark naked away from the room. He calls an old friend, Adam Harrison of Harrison INvestigations, to find the truth behind the haunting, whether it be by human hand, or not.

Darcy Tremayne is one of Adam’s best investigators. Sometimes all it takes is research to find the identity of the Ghost, human or real, and other times her special ‘gift’ is needed. The mystery of the haunting at Melody House is the most difficult she has ever faced, and someone doesn’t want her solving it; accident after accident seems to befall Darcy as she searches for the identity of the Ghost.

As Darcy and Matt race to solve the mystery at Melody House, they become involved. But, will Matt’s unwillingness to believe in Darcy’s gift lead to discord ir end the relationship before it has a chance for fulfillment?

Heather Graham does a wonderful job of peppering the mystery with suspects and misleading the reader until the very last. A fantastic read for those who don’t mind sleeping with the lights on!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted here. I did say that this was my backup if I ever had enough at blogger. I am posting today to show that I am still around and kicking.

It’s been a busy couple of months. Our Daughter was Baptized in our Church and received her 1st Holy Communion.

Son has knocked a gash in his head and busted his upper lip and gum, all within the last week.

One of our cats ate some string, required surgery for a perforated intestine and is now well again.

I’ve written several new book reviews, all well received by my friends. But, they like me and probably don’t want to hurt my feelings.

My husband Chris has a new computer to help him finish his Masters Degree. Thanks to my advice (after years of prodding) he bought a MacBook and has been ecstatic with it.

Anyway, that’s bringing everything up to speed. Have a good day!

I’ve yet to figure out how to post pictures here, so unlike my other blog, for a while I guess there will be no kitty pictures. I do have to share that I just read the most fabulous book by Linnea Sinclair. An Accidental Goddess was wonderful. I’ll have to post my review here later. But, if you’re interested, it’s a science-fiction book with a bit of romance thrown in.

That’s it from me right now. Good day, B.
