summerblowoutSummer Blowout by Claire Cook was a delightful read about a woman finding herself after a divorce.

Bella Shaughnessy has just suffered a painful divorce where she lost her husband, not to just another woman, but her half sister. She isn’t looking for love, but finds it anyway when a difficult client she’s doing make-up for her wedding asks her to babysit her dog. Precious, or Cannoli as she’s later called, is just what Bella needs to heal her heart. When Sean Ryan trades quips with her at a College Fair Bella is sure she’s not ready for men, ever. And even after she finds a new purpose, with Seans help, she’s still sure she’s not ready to let another man mean so much to her.

After several false starts and stops Bella begins to understand herself, and her future. And in the end? Well, a girls got to know the right lip gloss to kiss that special guy with! Add in a quirky family and you’ve got a mess of disastric proportions, or enough humor to make you giggle through anything.

This was truly a book where I could laugh with Bella and be near tears for her when she makes those mistakes that we all make, or cheer for her when she achieves all she wants. Summer Blowout left me with a smile on my face and an urge to look up the authors other books. Happy Reading!
