Tag You’re It by Penny McCall was a ride through a treasure hunt where the goal wasn’t just the treasure, but of redemption and love as well.
Alexandra (Alex) Scott never expected to have a man pushed out of an airplane where she was living in the remote Colorado landscape studying Mountain Lions. If that weren’t strange enough, moments later the plane circled back and began firing at her! Hurriedly getting the unconscious man back to her cabin before they both are killed becomes her first priority. Her second? Discovering exactly who the man was and why he was dumped on her land. But before she can find the pieces of the the puzzle she must discover what trouble the unwelcome visitor has brought to her front door!
Tag Donovan, an undercover FBI agent on a mission, crash landed in the forest near Alex, but he couldn’t tell her it was on purpose. He has a limited amount of time to gather facts, earn Alex’s trust and finish his case. He hasn’t counted on Alex’s tough spirit and inability to trust a man; or his flash fire attraction to her.
Alex and Tag must go on a treasure hunt to discover who set all the pieces of the puzzle into place and why. They have to draw out the bad guys while fighting their attraction for each other
. But when all is said and done, is the treasure of monetary value or is the treasure a love of a life time?
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable read with action from start to finish, not to mention an attraction that scorches the pages.
Prom Dates From Hell by Rosemary Clement-Moore
Prom Dates From Hell by Rosemary Clement-Moore was a fantastic supernatural YA book with a look at the last few weeks of High School as seen through the eyes of
School Paper Reporter Maggie Quinn.
High School can be hard enough, but when you suspect that someone (or something) is targeting the Popular and mean spirited clique of Jocks and Jessicas and that the Prom is only a week away, well, it’s going to be hard to ignore the accidents and odd behavior going on around reporter Maggie Quinn.
Maggie has managed to avoid the dreams for years, unfortunately her instincts (not to mention her sixth sense) kick in when one of her dreams seems to relate to the strange things happening to the Jocks and Jessicas. Luckily she has help in figuring out her dreams from her Grandmother and from Justin MacCallum, a cute college student of her fathers. Now Maggie must find a way to save her High School from the Supernatural Forces she suspects are at work and turn in her English Literature paper on Jonathan Swift to her dragon (not really, but the term fits!) of a teacher before the end of the world as she knows it. Talk about pressure! And if Justin happens to ask her on a date, she’ll have even more incentive to get to the bottom of all the incidents. Good thing her hero is Nancy Drew. This girl reporter wants to be prepared.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from Rosemary Clement-Moore and can’t wait for it’s next installment due out next March, titled Hell Week. You needn’t be a young adult to enjoy this book, it has a universal appeal for youth or adult. Ms. Moore has captured the angst and heriarchy in high school perfectly. With her heroine Maggie’s snarky comments and craving for caffeine, she’s sure to appeal to a vast array of readers.
At The Edge by Cait London

At The Edge by Cait London was a powerful book whose characters seemed to leap straight from the pages and into the imagination! All I can say is “WOW!”
Claire Brown was quite content to live in the wilds of rural Montana. One of the Aisling triplets, born with special “gifts”, she was glad to escape humanity and it’s uncontrollable emotions. With no other neighbors, except the elderly woman who befriended her, Claire is living a peaceful existence. But, Claire’s hideaway is soon disturbed when her elderly neighbor dies, leaving her home to her nephew, Neil Olafson.
Neil misses his Aunt terribly but decides to move into his inheritance and move his business onto the property. Neil is also tormented by memories and the inability to recieve closure from the disappearance of his 6 month old son, 8 years ago.
As Claire and Neil fight their attraction for one another, a dark force attacks Claire. Neil becomes her Protector, seeking to find answers to who would want to harm Claire. Each has secrets in their past that can harm the present and destroy any future the two may have together. They decide to join forces to try and find Neil’s son. Will they find they are stronger together, or will their new found connection lead to their ultimate downfall?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can not wait for the second in this trilogy of the Aisling Sisters: Claire (the youngest), Tempest (the middle triplet) and Leona (the oldest) The next book is due out April of 2008! Right now that seems like a very long wait
